Electromagnetic Field Computation by Network Methods

چکیده

Network-oriented methods applied to electromagnetic field problems can contribute significantly to the problem formulation and solution methodology and to a reduction of computational effort and allow a systematic introduction of hybrid methods. In network theory systematic approaches for circuit analysis are based on the separation of the circuit into the connection network and the circuit elements. The connection network represents the topological structure of the circuit and contains only interconnects, including ideal transformers. Applying a network description, electromagnetic structures can be partitioned into subdomains, defining the circuit elements. The boundary surfaces between the subdomains define the interconnection network. Lumped element circuit models of electromagnetic structures can be obtained by analytic or numerical techniques.

A Study of Electromagnetic Radiation from Monopole Antennas on Spherical-Lossy Earth Using the Finite-Difference Time-Domain Method

Radiation from monopole antennas on spherical-lossy earth is analyzed by the finitedifference time-domain (FDTD) method in spherical coordinates. A novel generalized perfectly matched layer (PML) has been developed for the truncation of the lossy soil. For having an accurate modeling with less memory requirements, an efficient "non-uniform" mesh generation scheme is used. Also in each time step...

Analytical Modeling of Magnetic Field Distribution in Inner Rotor Brushless Magnet Segmented Surface Inset Permanent Magnet Machines

Brushless permanent magnet surface inset machines are interested in industrial applications due to their high efficiency and power density. Magnet segmentation is a common technique in order to mitigate cogging torque and electromagnetic torque components in these machines. An accurate computation of magnetic vector potential is necessary in order to compute cogging torque, electromagnetic torq...

Accurate Simulation of AC Interference Caused by Electrical Power Lines: A Parametric Analysis

AC interference caused by high voltage power lines on non-energized utility lines (such as pipelines, rail tracks, etc.) sharing a common corridor with the electric lines is a serious concern because it can result in electric shocks and can threaten the integrity of the utility lines. This paper compares and discusses two different methods devoted to AC interference studies. A circuit approach ...

مدلسازی حذف الکترومغناطیسی آخال به صورت پیوسته از مذاب فلزات

In this research, a 3-D mathematical model is developed for simulating electromagnetic continuous removal of inclusions from molten metals. The model includes the computation of electromagnetic force field and fluid flow in the presence of electromagnetic forces. The results of flow field together with electromagnetic force field were further used for calculating the trajectory of inc...

Electromagnetic field analysis of novel low cogging force, linear switched reluctance motor, based on 2-D finite element method

This paper deals with electromagnetic design and 2-D (two-dimensional) magnetic field analysis of novel low force ripple linear switched reluctance (LSR) motor. The configuration that has been presented here has a higher number of rotor poles than stator poles, and the purpose of this configuration is to improve the force ripple, which is the weak point of LSRMs. In order to illustrate the ...
